Tree-Cutting Pics

Last weekend we went to Flagstaff for a little shopping, swimming, dining-out and strolling the downtown. It was a nice little get-away for all of us. I think the kids enjoyed the indoor aquaplex the best. On the way home, we took a detour off 89A to the Kaibab National Forest to cut down a Christmas tree. This is now the third year in a row that we've sent away for the permit. We hoped for Pinyon Pine this year, but ended up with a nice Ponderosa Pine instead. After a brief stop at the Jacob Lake Inn for a bite, the kids and I played in the snow while Brian did all of the hard work.

So where's the tree??!! It would be hard to find a tree to cut down here as there aren't many due to the winds, you'd probably be arrested if you tried too! Off to the Children's Christmas service at the church today, they call it a crib service. Abi said she didn't want to go as it would mean she had to do a 2 min silence - getting mixed up with Rememberance Day! Christmas dinner tomorrow with 33, should be interesting. Wet and colder today but should be nicer for tomorrow. The UK has had snow, cold and ice. Hoping Allen's mum makes the flight on Sunday, she's coming out here for 3 weeks. Happy Christmas to you all, see you in 2010 I hope.
