Riding the Bikes

A daily occurence (sometimes multiple times a day) is to ride our bikes up and down the West Idaho Drive hill. Sometimes it's the ride-on toy, sometimes it's the tricycle, and sometimes it's the big-bike with training wheels. I actually had to get rid of a big-wheel because Jacob burned through the plastic tire with his constant skidding down the slope. Today, Jacob got out the sled and fashioned it to his small tricycle bike. To his own credit, he got it working and took Annie for a ride. Another picture of Annie's new shoes...she's a shoe girl.

Day with the Brits

We've been pal - ing around with our friends from DC. They are orginally from England/Scotland, and have two children ( a fellow Jacob-4 and an Abi - 3). They've just moved to Denver and we've been spending lots of time exploring with them. (too bad we are leaving.) Today, we went to Lair O'Bear park in the mountains near Red Rocks and enjoyed playing in the river and hiking the trails. It's fun to see kids having a great time outdoors and with no toys. At one point, both Jacobs climbed on a rock and pretended it was a boat on the seas.

Performers

Our neighbor, Harley, came over to share her excitement of buying the new Hannah Montana CD. She proceeded to bring her new CD, dance costumes and karoke machine with her. We had a dance party with Jake and Annie having as much fun as Harley. This was my first introduction to Hannah Montana, quite the pre-teen pop and tv sensation. Then, I had an "I'm getting old" moment when I saw the cute pop-princess was the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus. Remember Achy-Breaky-Heart??

Barbies

Our neighbor, Harley, was over today. She comes over from time to time when her Dad is working. Anyway, she declared she was "over" her barbies, and brought some over for Annie. (Harley's going into 4th grade). These are Annie's first barbies, and she is enjoying them. There is a picture of Jacob holding a dinosaur -- he wasn't so into the dolls. In fact, his dinosaur was trying to eat one of the barbies. BTW - Jacob has a huge crush on Harley.

Sunday in Colorado

Today we drove up along Bear Creek to Evergreen. Stopped at a park to play and just enjoy the weather -- upper 70's and sunny. A perfect Colorado summer day.

First Try

I've decided to catch up with the times and create a blog for family and friends.

We had a great 4th of July. A BBQ with some friends and then fireworks. Jacob L.O.V.E.D the fireworks and said "Wooow" continously for the first ten minutes. People around us were giggling at his enthusiasm. Annie was a bit skeptical, held on tight, but did enjoy them. They also ran around, with glow-stick necklaces, the maze of people on the lawn.
Attached are two pictures from early in the day (and just a cute one of Annie eating ice-cream.). Pictures are on my nice, new digital camera.
